Teeth Whitening

Proper everyday dental care practices like brushing and flossing can help to keep your teeth white, bright, and healthy. If you are dealing with stubborn stains or you just want a more sparkling smile, teeth whitening can help!

It’s important to consult with your dentist before you try and whiten your teeth. While most people are good candidates for this procedure, individuals with sensitive teeth or damaged teeth could experience dental damage or pain from the chemicals used during teeth whitening. Also, since crowns, fillings, and veneers are not effected by teeth whitening solutions, people with these dental additions will need to talk with a dentist to see what their other options are.

In-Office Bleaching

Dr. Funk offers in office teeth whitening, and this process usually only requires a single visit! For patients with deep yellowing or stains caused by tobacco use or regular coffee consumption, more than one visit may be necessary. This procedure is quick, and teeth are usually lifted three to eight shades brighter in just 30 to 60 minutes time . The bleaching solution used by dentists is stronger than the kind you can buy from the store, so you will get better and faster results by getting your teeth whitened professionally than you would from a DIY approach.

Take-Home Bleaching

If you feel more comfortable whitening your teeth at home, we can provide you with a custom tray for at home whitening. In this case, Dr. Funk will provide you will trays and a bleaching solution, as well as instructions on how long to apply the whitening solution and how frequently. Unlike DIY teeth whitening kits, these trays are made specifically for your smile and can be reused in the future for whitening touch ups if you need them!
