Teeth Whitening Services in Twin Falls, ID
Millions of people complain of dulled or yellowed teeth that take away from their smiles. Discolored teeth can be associated with poor hygiene, but they are also associated with old age, and frailty of the teeth that can be caused by a few different things.
Professional teeth whitening treatments make it easier to achieve a bright smile, sometimes in just one treatment. The treatment works by treating the teeth with a hydrogen peroxide gel and then activating the gel to release oxygen ions. These oxygen ions flood your teeth and break down interior and exterior staining to achieve a bright look. This bleaching process is extremely effective and safe while causing little to no discomfort.

What are the benefits of teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening brightens your smile which can raise confidence, and help you appear healthier and more energetic. This can go a long way in improving your overall appearance and can sometimes be achieved in just one treatment. Though maintenance is required to maintain that appearance.
A major benefit of professional teeth whitening treatments is that compared to at-home treatments and over-the-counter methods alone, you can achieve the same results faster and for the same price. One of the most common causes of hesitation in our patients surrounding teeth whitening is the upfront cost. The fact is that compared to months of at-home treatment with weaker solutions, the price for one highly effective treatment and instructions on at-home care come out to about the same.
There are various options to help whiten your teeth—and we are happy to help you navigate them and choose the best one for you. Even if that means pointing you to at-home treatments and over-the-counter products to try first. We're not pushy, and we know all our patients are different.

How is professional teeth whitening performed?
Our office currently offers two different types of professional whitening services: in-office and custom-made trays.
In-office. These procedures start by covering up vulnerable areas inside the mouth, including the lips and gums, to prevent exposure to the peroxide. Then, we apply a high-concentrate hydrogen peroxide gel directly to the teeth and activate it. You will rest comfortably for a short time until the gel does its work. Then we remove the coverings and rinse the gel away.
Custom-made trays. We will take a custom mold of your teeth to make clear trays that you take home, along with a whitening gel. These trays will help minimize the risk of whitening gel affecting your gums or mouth and you can whiten your teeth from the comfort of your home. All you have to do is place the whitening gel inside the trays and place the trays in your mouth.

How do I whiten my teeth at home?
If you’re looking for a teeth whitening remedy without coming to the dentist, there are a few simple things you can try at home like brushing with baking powder, using hydrogen peroxide to brush or rinse with occasionally (cut the peroxide in half so you are using a 1.5% solution and not a 3% solution, which is common for over-the-counter), brushing or rinsing with apple cider vinegar, eating more fruits and vegetables, limiting foods that stain your teeth such as soda, coffee, and wine, limiting your sugar intake and building habits to support daily brushing and flossing.

Does teeth whitening damage teeth?
No, teeth whitening does not damage your teeth and is completely safe. Teeth whitening can cause temporary increased sensitivity but with proper oversight and instructions, and with a desensitizing toothpaste it is easy to reduce or eliminate that side effect. We recommend patients use sensitivity-formulated toothpaste before, during, and after treatment. Sometimes we recommend fluoride treatments as well to help strengthen enamel.
